it's been so long..
I've become so busy for the past few months, but now I'm back. I'm here at the office, work pa rin.. pero nagiisa ko dito, ako lang pumsok =(. ok lang, share ko na lang tong song na pinapakinggan ko at prayer ng heart ko ngayon..
Lead me to the cross
Savior I come
Quiet my soul remember
Redemptions hill
Where Your blood was spilled
For my ransom
Everything I once held dear
I count it all as lost
Chorus:
Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord I lay me down
Rid me of myself
I belong to You
Oh Lead me, lead me to the cross
You were as I
Tempted and trialed
Human
The word became flesh
Bore my sin and death
Now you're risen
Everything I once held dear
I count it all as lost
Chorus
Bridge:
To your heart
To your heart
Lead me to your heart
Lead me to your heart
A Hedge Of Thorns
by Jon Walker
"Therefore, this is what I will do: I will block her way with thorns; I will enclose her with a wall, so that she cannot find her paths." Hosea 2:6 (HCSB)
*** *** *** ***
We run from God; He calls us back. We hide from God; He seeks us out. We chase false gods; He reminds us He is the One True God, and He guards us jealously.
In order to illustrate his faithfulness and patience with us, God chose a prostitute named Gomer. Many men came to see her, but then one came, not to use her, but to marry her.
He was a prophet from God; a holy man committed to pure and righteous living. He came saying God wanted him to marry her. You can imagine the shock, the laughter – and the mixed-up feelings.
But it wasn’t too long before Gomer returned to her old lovers and old friends; however, God told Hosea to always go after her and bring her home – just as God forgives us and brings us home to Him.
Even though Gomer thought, "I will go after my lovers … (Hosea 2:5)," God blocked her path with a "hedge of thorns," a spiritual wall He placed around her so she could not find her way back to those sinful relationships. (Hosea 2:6)
We can pray a hedge of thorns be placed around those in rebellion, but the same prayer can also be used as a "hedge of protection" for loved ones in vulnerable situations. For instance, asking God to place a hedge of protection around a child vulnerable to developing some wrong relationships, ones that may cause him to stumble or that may stall her Christian growth.
It is this hedge of protection that Satan points to when demanding God allow him to sift Job. The enemy couldn’t get to Job because God had placed a hedge around him. (Job 1:8-11)
What does this mean?
· You are protected by God – God places protection around you (although that does not mean you won’t encounter hardship). Pray a hedge of protection for yourself, asking God to guide you decisions and steps.
· Pray for your spouse, children, others – Pray this hedge of protection around you loved ones, friends, or any one else God suggests. Get quiet with God and ask him to identify the fears and vulnerabilities present and pray through those issues. "And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. [For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.]" (Matthew 6:13 HCSB)
Pray for the prodigals – God says he blocked Gomer’s path with thorns, so she would come back to Him, just as He is faithful to take us back when we return from the far country. (Hosea 2:5b-7 HCSB)
Being fully persuaded
Being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised. Romans 4:21
Why did God consider Abraham a righteous man? It was because Abraham looked beyond his own limitations of age and strength and considered God as the one who could accomplish His own goals. Abraham came to a place in his life where he realized it had little to do with him and all to do with God. His part was initiating the faith within himself.
Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, "So shall your offspring be." Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead-since he was about a hundred years old-and that Sarah's womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God (Romans 4:18-20).
What are the things in your life that are mere impossibilities? What are the mountains in your life? Are these there in order to build your faith in the one who can enable you to ascend to the peak? Once you know that it is His will for you to pursue, do it with faith. Faith requires action when we know it is He who is leading. It may require risk. Faith is sometimes spelled R-I-S-K. Abraham did not limit God. It is this confidence in God that God honored and rewarded. He wants to do the same with you and me.
Thirsting After God
2 Kings 2:9
..."Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit"....
The first requirement to move in greater power and authority in God is to hunger for it. Yet even this hunger is born from God. Elisha hungered after God. Elisha saw many miracles as Elijah's servant. But he wanted more. He wanted a double portion of Elijah's spirit. When he asked Elijah for this, the prophet responded, "You have asked a difficult thing." It wasn't because it couldn't be granted. Elijah knew that with great anointing came a great weight of responsibility and difficulty.
Second, humility comes before honor. Elisha was known as the "servant of Elijah." How would you like to be known as "the servant of John"? Your name is not even mentioned. This was the preparation of Elisha. It has been the preparation of many men of God. Consider Joseph, the servant of Pharaoh. Consider David, the servant of Saul.
Third, Elisha committed himself totally to his calling. The Scripture says when Elisha was called to join Elijah, the younger man left his farm business completely. He slaughtered his oxen and had a great feast for the community. It was all or nothing. He could not fall back on his farm trade if his new venture didn't work. This demonstrates Elisha's pioneer spirit in stepping out, not knowing what was ahead.
Do you want greater anointing in God? "You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart. I will be found by you" (Jer. 29:13-14a). Begin thirsting for God's anointing in your heart today. This is the starting place.
